The Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Region is comprised of ten counties: Essex, Gloucester, King and Queen, King William, Mathews and Middlesex on the Middle Peninsula. Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland in the Northern Neck. This Area encompasses 2200 square miles connected by the Potomac and York Rivers and Chesapeake Bay, and bisected by the Rappahannock River.
